Lenze has again rounded off its successful EL 100 HMI series. With a size of only 104 x 130 x 34 mm, a touch-sensitive 3.5" TFT display with LED backlighting, an Ethernet, USB and CAN interface, as well as an SD card slot, the EL 103 is a device that can replace larger text displays hitherto used at the machines, as well as simple graphics displays. This is ideal where an increased number of visualisation functions are called for and operation directly at the device is required. The Windows CE real-time operating system, in combination with the optional soft PLC including a maintenance-free UPS for storing residual data, render the EL 103 a particularly economic operator terminal with integrated control.
The EL 103, with which Lenze has expanded its EL 100 series of HMI devices can be distinguished from its "big brothers" essentially only through the display dimensions and the space requirement: a brilliant 3.5'' touchscreen with LED backlighting is located in the front panel, its dimensions are smaller than a CD cover. As is the case with all members of the EL 100 HMI series, an energy-efficient XScale processor forms the integral part of the new EL 103. Accordingly, the HMI unit requires neither fans nor batteries for buffering the real-time clock and only uses 5 W. The EL 103, similarly to all devices in the EL 100 HMI range, can be optionally equipped with a soft PLC including a maintenance-free UPS for storing residual PLC data and can therefore take on additional control tasks. For applications, a 32 MB Flash and a 64 MB RAM memory are available. Furthermore, thanks to the integrated SD card slots, the memory can be further expanded for the storage of recipe and archive data, for example.
The factory fitted interfaces (Ethernet, USB and CAN) provide effective connection to the Lenze field devices, as well as problem-free and cost-effective integration into the machine architecture.
The VisiWinNET® visualisation solution from Lenze is optimised for use on the EL 103. Following selection of the device in a menu, the user can choose the required device driver in the VisiWinNET® project wizard and then set the corresponding parameters.
With VisiWinNET®, user-friendly visualisation applications with diverse display options for text and graphics can conveniently be created on the EL 103. Universal language selection, a sophisticated status message system, as well as powerful recipe management round off the visualisation functions.
With compact and robust construction, the brilliant touch display, low energy requirements and simple creation of graphic user interfaces, the EL 103 offers a more advantageous and versatile alternative for conventional line and graphics displays. It fits in where space is restricted, but where a graphic screen with touch-operation is also required. |
